Formerly a Gold Rush bordello, the historic SKAGWAY INN is a Victorian BED & BREAKFAST in the heart of Skagway Alaska's Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park District. Convenient to shopping, galleries, museums, restaurants, and trails, the SKAGWAY INN provides sparkling clean comfort and friendly service plus the charm of its famous Gold Rush era.
Twelve guest rooms and six baths are artfully and individually decorated. The rooms are named after Gold Rush gals who are believed to have spent some time "working" at the Inn. Each room is different, accommodating from one to five guests.
A home-cooked breakfast with fresh-ground coffee is included in the reasonable room rates, starting at $60.00. Courtesy transfer is provided. For those guests hiking the famous Chilkoot Trail, rides to the trailhead may be prearranged.
The Skagway Inn is open all year. Cross-country skiing is particularly good in March and April. From May through September fine dining is offered by Chef Lorna McDermott, a graduate of Europe's famous Le Cordon Bleu culinary school. Lorna specializes in country French cuisine, fresh Alaska seafoods and wild game.
