On a hill overlooking the Pacific Coast and the Santa Cruz shoreline, Marvista is a lovely retreat for those seeking a peaceful destination in luxurious surroundings. The green lawns, tall trees and flower gardens add to the tranquility of the setting. A view of the North Coast of the Monterey Bay is prominent from every room. From the spacious porch, while looking out to sea, guests can enjoy their first cup of coffee or the evening sunset with a cold drink.
The house is tastefully furnished in Arts and Crafts period antiques with many Stickley pieces. As guests relax In the living room in front of the fireplace, the large windows afford a wonderful view. In the dining room a tasty breakfast is served each morning. Guests might also choose to be served on the deck or in the privacy of their rooms.
There are just two guest rooms, each with an ocean view and a private deck. These beautifully appointed rooms also have gas-burning fireplaces, stocked in-room refrigerators, telephones, TVs, VCRs, robes and slippers and private baths. The bath for Manresa, with standard tub and shower, is private to the room, but located just across the hall. The bath in Palo Alto has a whirlpool tub in a garden window setting and separate shower for two.
Marvista is a wonderful retreat for those seeking a romantic, private hideaway. But it Is also ideal for couples or families traveling together who are looking for an upscale spot for vacation or celebration. The Monterey Peninsula, Santa Cruz beaches and a host of excellent restaurants are all within an easy drive.
