The Upcountry Bed and Breakfast is a brand new 5,500 sq. ft. home, hand-crafted and designed as a Bed and Breakfast from the ground up. Built by artist/architect/ owner Michael Sullivan it reflects the plantation manager residences of old Hawaii. Nestled on the slopes of Haleakala at 3,000 feet the views from your room and lanai are spectacular. Whether your watching the clouds drift past, the city lights or the shooting stars you won't find better views anywhere on Maui.
All of our rooms are Master Suites, no shared baths. Our two downstairs rooms meet ADA standards and one of they has twin beds. All of our other rooms have a king size bed, double sinks, a ceiling fan, gas fireplace, wet bar, refrigerator, hair dryer, coffee maker, microwave oven DVD/CD/MP3 player and color television with digital cable service and internet access and a Caldera Spa is also avaiable for our guests.
The bed and breakfast is 45 minutes from the summit of Haleakala, just minutes from the Ulupalakua Ranch and Tedeschi Winery. We are in the town of Waiakoa with the Historic Holy Ghost Church and Morihar's General Store and only a short drive to the Paniolo towns of Makawao and Pukalani. Waipoli State Park and Rice Park are within walking distance. Baldwin Beach and Ho'opika Windsurfing are only 20 minutes away.
