Built in 1843 as the home of sea captain Rodolphus Dexter, the house has been meticulously restored and exquisitely furnished to reflect the charm and elegance of that period. The bed and breakfast inn is a few short blocks from the ferry, shops and restaurants.
You will feel special, surrounded by beautiful flowers from our garden and pampered by innkeepers who believe in old-fashioned hospitality. The home itself is a reminder of yesteryear, with the grace and dignity of the past but the conveniences and comforts of the present: original wide floorboards, graceful mouldings, handstenciled walls, Count Rumford fireplaces and four-poster canopy beds.
Start the day with a home-baked continental breakfast and return to the inn after a day of swimming, golfing, biking or walking and join the guests for a complimentary aperitif and lemonade.
Rates: $55-$170 (all guest rooms have private baths)
Open year round.
