Harmony House Inn

New Bern, North Carolina, USA

Harmony House Inn
Harmony House was built for Benjamin Ellis circa 1850 as a four-room two story home with Greek Revival styling. As the Ellis family grew, additions were made, porches were built and then enclosed. In the early 1900s, the house was sawed in half, and the west side was moved over nine feet; a new hallway and stairs were built, and a wall added to divide the house into two sections.

Innkeepers Ed and Sooki Kirkpatrick create an atmosphere where guests can "escape" into history and experience the ultimate in relaxation. Visitors are invited to relax on one of the swings or rocking chairs on the porch or enjoy a conversation in the parlor.

Facilities: 9 Guest Rooms and 1 Suite, Dining room, guest parlor, 1 block from 2 rivers, public park. Walking distance to Historic Tryon Palace, Civil War Museum, Fireman's Museum. Extras: Evening social hour. Airport/station pickups.
