Dunsavage Farms, the home of The Best Bed and Breakfast's in Texas author Lynn Dunsavage, is an urban escape-hatch, featuring a large, picturesque home on a 25 acre hill, overlooking a lake and New York, Texas, (population 12).
You can rock on the front porch and listen to the sounds of silence or become engulfed by an eternity of stars for as far as you can see, which is about seven miles. The show house is filled with antiques, a library, two fireplaces and fine music. Rooms feature private baths. An open pantry, (filled with Texas wines and other goodies), and a gigantic country gourmet breakfast, have drawn rave reviews from the Dallas Morning News and Southern Living.
Near "First Monday Trades Day" in Canton, Athens and Tyler, filled with antique stores and wholesale berry and plant operations, open to the public.
